The Windsor (WVHA) and West Windsor Historical Societies are joining together to celebrate a Revolutionary War Hero, the Marquis de Lafayette, on the 200th anniversary of his last visit to Windsor, Vermont. On the morning of 28th of June, 2025 - exactly two hundred years after Lafayette’s visit to Windsor - plans are in the works to commemorate this historic visit with a reenactment of the events starting at 7:30am when Lafayette crossed the Connecticut River over the covered bridge from Cornish New Hampshire into Windsor.
In preparation for the event in Windsor on June 28th, the West Windsor Historical Society will present a program “Lafayette’s New England Connections” on April 13th, from 2:00 – 3:00pm, location: West Windsor Historical Society’s Grange Hall, 1023 VT-44, Brownsville.
